The statistics API could reveal some more stats to gauge chat room activity:

  • Number of public channel messages in last 60 minutes
  • Number of DMs sent in last 60 minutes

So then your main website could show: how many chatters are online, how many cameras are active (red/blue), which usernames are online, and the new fields, how actively are people chatting.
