On small screens (mobile) the chat user experience could be improved more. On mobile, only one panel of the chat is shown at the time (chat history panel by default, channels/DMs and who list are viewable by clicking buttons).

Ideas for improvements:

If the left drawer has unread notifications (DMs/channels), show an indicator on the button to draw the user's attention to go look.
