Vortex0         vserver0.tripod.com  good

Stats: 1 servers (0 online servers, 0 servers full)

About the Servers
The vortex servers are simply web sites at tripod.com where the Vortex will be duplicated. The reason for the different servers is that users will be able to save their progress on the web sites, and when one of the servers runs out of web space (so that no more can sign up), a new server will be added. If you signed up on Server 0 and we create Server 1, your saved game is still on Server 0. If Server 0 is full and you don't have a saved game, you will need to go to Server 1.

About the Vortex
The LNR Universe Vortex is an online Flash game in production. It will enable users to sign up and have their information stored in an online CGI database. In Vortex, you are an LNR Universe trainer and your job is to, unlike LNR Worlds, capture only ONE monster and train it to become powerful. To train it, you can battle CPU Trainers, CPU Battlers, or other human opponents, labeled "HMN." Eventually the game will enable you to see other online users who are wandering The Land of No Return with you.

How Vortex Works
For those computer-illiterate people out there who are probably expecting a very technical, confusing paragraph, here's a simplified statement as to how this game works: Using Flash 5, which is a program which makes interactive animations or movies, and Perl (a programming language, found in the /cgi-bin/ folder on most web sites), this game will save your progress in TXT files (text documents, editable in Notepad). Perl will save the progress, and Flash will load the progress. The two will work together for this game.

Now for those who want a complicated, more detailed explanation. The vortex servers will consist of a couple HTML web pages and a few PL files in the CGI Bin. The HTML pages will be used for the containing of the Flash file and for the sign-up form. The PL pages will be used for saving variables to text documents using the LOG command. When you click "Log In," Flash will load variables from a text file within the cgi-bin. The name and exact location of this file is hidden.
